I wish I had bothered to read reviews like this before booking my Danube cruise!We had a similar experience.

Bus transfer from Prague airport was in a bus with only air conditioning in the front for the driver! Was an omen to things to come! We were shocked to board for the cruise in an industrial port outside of Nuremberg. We spent the first couple of days cruising in a canal with nothing to see but canal bank.

We were not allowed on the top deck because of rain! We were told part way through that we had to switch boats due to low water so they put us on a bus. We missed the best part of the Danube and that night cruised in the night while the director pointed out sights in the dark. Found many of the other older passengers to be rude and pushy.

Few window seats for meals and the same people were always seated there. No rotation so all can enjoy. Found the local guides excellent but the tours were way to short. Spent too much time while we waited for others to take potty breaks!

Felt communication was very poor and we were told only to complain to corporate when we got home. Many were frustrated like us by the unnecessary reroute and time spent busing etc. Viking did contact me when I arrived home. We as given a voucher for a future cruise.

Will not be using it ever!

Period!Don't waste your money or valuable time with this cruise line.

Your comments about other aspects of the cruise are also appreciated. We have noted each of your concerns, including the bus ride from Prague, length of shore excursions and dining room arrangements. While seating in the dining room is on a first-come, first-served basis, we certainly understand your disappointment to not be seated by a window.

Thanks for the info. We were thinking of a trip like this for next summer. Guess we will pass on Viking and do something else.
